Here you go Hil.
This is my favorite wheat bread to make.
1 pk. active dry yeast
2 c. warm water
1/3 c. honey or dark molasses
2 Tbl. soft shortening
2 tsp. salt
5 1/2 - 6 c. whole wheat flour
Mix all ingredients in order listed except for the flour. Add flour gradually to make a stiff dough. Knead on floured surface until smooth and satiny. Place in greased bowl. Cover; let rise in warm place until doubled.
Divided in half. Shape into balls and cover with bowl. Let rest for 15 mins. Shape into loafs and place in greased loaf pans. Cover and let rise until light and doubled, about 1 hour.
Bake at 375 for 30-35 mins.

THanks for the post Katy!! I will give your recipe a try, always willing to try new recipes :) About the yeast though, are you adding it in dry?
I will have to try out your recipe. I am always looking for a good recipe that I can do easily.
