My friend Missy and I went to a charity event put on by some authors to raise money for a woman that has breast cancer. The event was called Save the Book Babe. It was so much fun. Stephanie Meyer was one of the authors that helped put this event together and we were able to get a book of hers signed. The authors donated stuff to auction off and people were very generous in there support. What a cool way to help out a friend!

Hiking with the rattlesnakes
The kids and I went for a hike on Saturday. A lady at the start of the trail warned me to keep the kids close because the rattlesnakes were out. We really enjoyed out hike until we were on our way back. We ran into 2 rattlesnakes and the kids were really freaked out. The desert is so beautiful but there are a lot of creepy creatures that live in it.

Honey Wheat Bread
Here you go Hil.
This is my favorite wheat bread to make.
1 pk. active dry yeast
2 c. warm water
1/3 c. honey or dark molasses
2 Tbl. soft shortening
2 tsp. salt
5 1/2 - 6 c. whole wheat flour
Mix all ingredients in order listed except for the flour. Add flour gradually to make a stiff dough. Knead on floured surface until smooth and satiny. Place in greased bowl. Cover; let rise in warm place until doubled.
Divided in half. Shape into balls and cover with bowl. Let rest for 15 mins. Shape into loafs and place in greased loaf pans. Cover and let rise until light and doubled, about 1 hour.
Bake at 375 for 30-35 mins.
